Lewandowski Hints at Staying.. and Challenges: We Will Win Titles
The Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who plays for Barcelona, hinted that he will stay with the team next season.
Lewandowski joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022 and has since helped the team win the La Liga title last season, as well as the Spanish Super Cup.
Lewandowski (35 years old) finished his first season with Barcelona as the top scorer in La Liga with 23 goals. He has scored 18 goals in the current season, which Barcelona will end without winning any titles.
Lewandowski’s contract runs until 2026, but there have been doubts about his future since coach Xavi announced his intention to leave in January, a decision he later reversed in April.
Barcelona faces economic challenges due to high player salaries and the Camp Nou renovation project, which has increased financial pressure this season.
When asked about the current rumors regarding his potential departure from the team, Lewandowski told “Mundo Deportivo” on Wednesday: “Of course, for me, the matter is clear. I want to win many titles with Barcelona. I am confident that we will be stronger next season and will also win titles.”
He added: “I always want the best, not just for myself but for my teammates. I am fully confident that the team will win titles next season because I see what we do every day.”
He continued: “For me, this is what matters because I love this club and want to contribute a lot to the team and to it.”
Barcelona is currently in second place in the standings, 12 points behind league champions Real Madrid. Barcelona will face Sevilla in the final round of the current season next Sunday.
